Edward Balliol, son of John Balliol, crowned at Scone.

Edward Balliol, son of John Balliol, is crowned King of Scots at Scone in 1332 with English support, amid the ongoing struggle for the Scottish crown. His reign, however, is marked by instability and repeated conflict with supporters of David II, son of Robert the Bruce.

Balliol is: • Deposed in December 1332 • Restored in 1333 • Deposed again in 1334 • Briefly restored in 1335 • Finally deposed in 1341

He formally relinquishes his claim in 1356 and dies in obscurity in England. His turbulent rule highlights the continued Anglo-Scottish power struggles and internal divisions following the Wars of Scottish Independence.
